Living rooms should be a space for relaxation and storage of everything, from books and magazines to DVDs and video games. It should have ample storage. Avoid overcrowding with dual-purpose furniture. Coffee tables with additional drawers, living room shelves storage for books and accessories, large lidded baskets that can double as side tables, and storage for throws are all great options.
Window Seat
A bench with drawers or boxes or baskets lined up underneath the window sill is all you need to make a window seat. To make it more comfortable, you can use cushions or seat pads. You may be able to lose an armchair or a cabinet by using the extra storage and seating that a window seat offers.
Back to Back Shelving
A narrow console table or shelving unit placed against the back of a sofa will not intrude into your room. It will conceal the back of your seating.
Side Storage
To make it easy to swap seasonal accessories and cushions, store them in large boxes. It can double as a small side table if placed next to your sofa. To store accessories like coasters or remote controls, you can also use a smaller lidded container on the top.
Display Cabinet
You can give your room personality by storing your finest glassware and crockery in a gglass-fronted cabinet. This will allow you to see the pieces. A narrower design will work best if your space is small. To make it easier to get your items into and out of the cabinet, choose one that has many doors.
